Notice of Change of Representative Director

The Board of Directors of MAFTEC Group Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Otemachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter referred to as “MAFTEC Group”) decided at its meeting held on March 28 to change its Representative Director effective April 1, 2024.

2. Biography of the Newly Appointed Representative Director and President

After completing his studies in the Department of Synthetic Chemistry at the Faculty of Engineering, Kyoto University, he embarked on a career at IBM Japan.
His journey included roles in the sales division and the Chubu branch office. Later, he was transferred to IBM’s New York headquarters in the United States.
Subsequently, he served as an assistant to the senior vice president of IBM USA and contributed to the global strategy division.
Upon returning to Japan, he assumed responsibilities in product business and marketing at IBM Japan. Eventually, he rose to the position of managing executive officer and general manager of the enterprise business division, overseeing large manufacturing companies in Japan.
In 2014, he departed from IBM Japan to take on the role of CEO at Schneider Electric Japan, a prominent French manufacturing company. During his tenure, he successfully implemented sales and supply chain management reforms, significantly expanding the company’s presence in Japan.
In 2019, he became director and general manager of the sales division of Fuji Seal, Inc. He achieved rapid development of new customers and became President and CEO the following year in 2020. He promoted DX initiatives and significantly improved sales efficiency.
In March 2023, he became Chairman of the Board.
In February 2024, he became a director of MAFTEC Group Co., Ltd.

3. Reason for the Change

The MAFTEC Group has been steadily implementing the establishment of a foundation for achieving sustainable growth as an independent company since becoming independent from the Mitsubishi Chemical Group in 2022. In addition, we have identified fiscal 2024 as a very important year for setting the course for future growth, as we aim to list our shares on the Tokyo Stock Exchange within the next few years. Under these circumstances, we have decided to appoint Mr. Kosuke Matsuzaki, who has extensive management experience and has held senior positions at major operating companies in Japan and overseas, as President & CEO of the MAFTEC Group and CEO of Affiliated Companies with effect from 1 April 2024, in order to further accelerate growth measures such as strengthening and promoting existing businesses and expanding business fields.
